Qwest may do VDSL2, with DOCSIS 3.0 as target

Qwest Communications is testing and reportedly planning a new VDSL2 broadband service supporting 40 Mbps downstream and 20 Mbps up for $109.99 per month. Nothing has been confirmed, but if it happens, the service could come as DOCSIS 3.0 solutions in the neighborhood of 50 Mbps are starting to make market impact .

The service would be a step up from Qwest's ADSL2+ as well as making that challenge to DOCSIS 3.0 wideband, but never mind all the speed differences. Telephony reports Qwest CFO Joe Eueteneuer said the of broadband that "speed is almost a non-issue," Maybe that's what you says when you are not quite as fast as DOCSIS 3.0, but pretty close
