- Products Featured at the RCA Annual Convention and Exhibition This Week in Las Vegas
- ADC Offers Complete Portfolio of Wired and Wireless Solutions for Rural Applications
- Solutions Enable the Delivery of More Broadband Services to Rural Communities
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) (www.adc.com), a leading provider of wireless coverage and capacity solutions, announced today its ClearGain® Tower-mounted and Ground-mounted Amplifiers have been accepted by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) agency. This allows ADC’s products to be used in the expansion of broadband services to underserved and rural communities. The ClearGain Amplifiers will be featured in ADC’s booth #504 at the RCA Annual Convention and Exhibition, April 28-29, in Las Vegas.
ADC’s Tower-mounted Amplifiers (TMAs) and Ground-mounted Amplifiers (GMAs) improve the signal quality by boosting the uplink signal of a mobile system to increase receiver performance and improve overall coverage. The improvements in quality of service allow mobile subscribers to place more calls, make longer calls, and successfully complete calls in an expanded geographic area, which can result in increased revenue for service providers.
ADC offers hundreds of RUS-listed products to carriers serving rural areas in the United States and seeking funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Acceptance of ADC solutions enables service providers seeking funding from the RUS to propose the use of these products in applications they submit for the agency’s loans and grants.
“We are pleased to support the expansion of rural economic development by providing high-quality, cost-effective products that help our wireless customers offer new broadband services,” said Dick Parran, president of the Network Solutions business unit for ADC. “To further support higher bandwidth needs, wireless operators are investing in new networks that will not only deliver services but new revenue streams as well.”
ClearGain Amplifiers
ADC’s newest additions to the RUS listing include:
- ClearGain Tower-mounted Amplifiers – TMAs improve signal quality by boosting the uplink (RX) signal of a mobile system immediately after the antenna. This compensates for the loss in signal strength that occurs when the signal is passed through the coaxial feeder cable to the base transceiver station (BTS) at the base of the tower. ClearGain TMAs perform this amplification with the lowest possible noise contribution, resulting in a substantial increase in receiver performance and an improvement in overall coverage.
- ClearGain Ground-mounted Amplifiers – GMAs provide the same benefits to wireless operators as the tower-mounted products. The GMA’s slim, stackable design conserves rack space and eliminates tower climbs, and their advanced filtering maintains the lowest possible noise figure for improved Quality of Service (QoS).
Other ADC products on the RUS list include nearly all the company’s fiber portfolio, including ADC’s FiberGuide® Fiber Management Systems, Next-Generation Frames (NGFs), OmniReach® Fiber Access Terminals (FATs) and Fiber Distribution Hubs (FDHs), as well as OmniReach Multiport Service Terminals (MSTs) and fiber hardened drop cables.
ADC – A Broadband Stimulus Resource for Rural Carriers and Municipalities
