Bouygues Telecom Expands 3G Data Traffic Management Capabilities with Openwave
France-based Mobile Operator Expands its Openwave Traffic Management Deployment to Manage all Forms of Data Traffic and Efficiently Leverage Network Resources
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), a global software innovator delivering context-aware mediation and messaging solutions, today announced that Bouygues Telecom, a French mobile operator that is part of the Bouygues Group, has expanded its existing Openwave Traffic Management solution that was deployed last year to to manage and optimize its network traffic. Through this expansion, Bouygues is expected to manage their rapidly growing mobile data traffic with more dynamic control of a diverse range of IP data flows for both operational improvement as well as the delivery of new service offerings.
Bouygues has experienced a significant increase in data volume, and has experienced a change in the nature of its network traffic because of a growing demand for mobile broadband services. Openwave’s solution will enable Bouygues Telecom to obtain better insights into network usage patterns and help them to define and anticipate new usage behaviors. Openwave’s traffic management solution will potentially allow Bouygues Telecom to offer in-line billing, time and volume based service tiers and proactive service policy management as Bouygues’ network management needs grow.
