BT Group Subsidiary Ribbit Corp. Settles Patent Litigation with Klausner Technologies
Inks Visual Voicemail Patent License
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ribbit Corporation, a subsidiary of BT Group plc (BT:NYSE), has entered into a patent license agreement with Klausner Technologies, Inc., under the Klausner U.S. Visual Voicemail patents, for Ribbit’s Visual Voicemail products in the U.S. The parties have settled their outstanding litigation and the case has been dismissed.
Ribbit is the 27th company, to date, to license Klausner Technologies’ Visual Voicemail patents. Current licensees of the Visual Voicemail patents include major U.S. and European mobile operators, handset manufacturers, cable operators, and other providers of Visual Voicemail services.

Ribbit had been a defendant in the pending patent infringement lawsuit brought by Klausner in the Eastern District of Texas. Klausner is represented in the litigation by the law firm of Dovel & Luner. Klausner Technologies is currently asserting its Visual Voicemail patents against Yahoo (YHOO:NSDQ), Qwest (Q:NYSE), Panasonic (PC:NYSE), Avaya and Cisco (CSCO:NSDQ) in a lawsuit captioned Klausner Technologies, Inc. v. Qwest Communication, Inc., et. al, Case No. 6-09 CV-232.
