Cedar Point Communications to Preview Visual Communications Applications at ANGA Cable Show
Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers, today announced that it is previewing new applications on its SafariFusionTM Application Platform that are designed to bring telecommunications functionalities to a diverse set of endpoints as part of its overall PacketCable 2.0/IMS (PC 2.0/IMS) product portfolio.
At its stand (H21) at the ANGA Cable Show in Cologne, Germany this week, Cedar Point will be showing the SafariFusionTM Visual Communications Suite (VCS), a suite of communications applications that harnesses the flexibility of new network architectures to give subscribers greater control over telecommunications activities at the PC, mobile phone, and TV. The applications enable cable system operators to offer new, highly-differentiated services that expand beyond existing, television-based call management applications.
"Since our announcement of the SafariFusionTM Application Platform and the first two applications to run on it at the SCTE show last October, our intent has been to continually drive innovation and bring true advanced communications services to market," said Jeff Walker, vice president of marketing for Cedar Point Communications. "With SafariFusion VCS, we can now provide operators with the ability to bring standard communication services features to any endpoint that may be part of the consumer's day to day life. By leveraging the SafariFusion Application Platform's standards-based development kit, we are rapidly iterating a new generation of converged services that can significantly improve the way subscribers can access messages, dial calls and manage communications in general."
A critical part of Cedar Point's next generation PC 2.0/IMS solution, the SafariFusion Application Platform leverages industry standard Web 2.0 tools and applications for rapid deployment of multimedia communications services. SafariFusion also has been designed to enable an evolutionary strategy that combines seamless migration to PC 2.0/IMS architectures with investment protection for existing NCS and SIP endpoints.
Cedar Point has shipped more than six and a half million SAFARI C3 lines to customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to 250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic meter of space, incorporating all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure. It is being deployed for residential and business services by a diverse customer base that includes Cable System Operators, CLECs, Wireless Operators and Universities.
