GoAhead Software Completes Certification of OpenSAFfire for Strategic Partner Hardware Platforms
Hardware Certification Program Milestone Showcases Growing Momentum for High Availability Standard
BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- GoAhead® Software today announced that four of its major hardware partners have now certified their systems with OpenSAFfire, GoAhead’s industry standard high availability solution. GoAhead has completed certification with partners Emerson Network Power, Radisys, Continuous Computing, and Hewlett-Packard. The GoAhead program addresses the critical areas of hardware-software interoperability and rigorous quality control that are crucial to the development of highly available systems. It is a response to growing industry demand for pre-integrated systems that streamline development and accelerate time-to-market.
The OpenSAFfire Hardware Certification Program guarantees that hardware and software operate together to provide customers with pre-integrated systems, removing one of the most time consuming aspects of development. These commercial hardware leaders have all committed to the program because it enables them to lower their customers’ development costs and reduce project risk.
"The OpenSAFfire certification program is another milestone in the long-standing and successful partnership between Emerson Network Power and GoAhead," said Rob Pettigrew, Director of Marketing, Embedded Computing, Emerson Network Power. "Joint Emerson and GoAhead customers can realize a significant acceleration in their development when they can focus on application development rather than being delayed with integration issues when creating a highly available system.”
"The OpenSAFfire certification program offers our customers additional options when developing a highly available system,” said Manish Singh, VP of Product Line Management at Continuous Computing. “The breadth of our OpenSAFfire-certified FlexTCA platforms reflects the growing demand for such capabilities from the ATCA ecosystem. Incorporating OpenSAFfire into a standards-based platform like FlexTCA enables network equipment providers to focus on application development of Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) functions such as Internet Offload, Adaptive Traffic Shaping and Video Optimization.”
“Radisys is a major player in ATCA platforms, and by extending its partnership with GoAhead through this certification program we are enhancing our market-proven, cutting-edge solutions for our customers,” said Venkataraman Prasannan, general manager for the ATCA business unit at RadiSys. “By leveraging deep engagements with all our ecosystem partners combined with upfront robust integration, RadiSys allows TEM customers to significantly reduce development risk and time-to-market. This GoAhead partnership is one more step in evolving this valuable relationship and moving the industry toward truly integrated ATCA platforms.”
“GoAhead is very fortunate to have the support of this set of leading hardware vendors,” said Asif Naseem, President and COO of GoAhead. “The certification of OpenSAFfire on this wide range of systems will greatly expand the choices for our customers and enable them to eliminate the costs and risks of integration of middleware and hardware. We are confident that the entire ecosystem will benefit from these solutions.”
These OpenSAFfire certifications are available immediately as part of OpenSAFfire version 6.1. The announcement of this milestone for the GoAhead OpenSAFfire Hardware Certification Program comes at the beginning of the OpenSAF Conference which is taking place this week at MIT in Cambridge, MA. OpenSAF is an open source software community with projects focused on high availability middleware and is led by a foundation of leading equipment and communication companies.
