HomePlug Technology Family on Display at Booth C29 at Broadband World Forum in Paris

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The HomePlug® Powerline Alliance, the leading industry group promoting adoption of powerline home networking products, will be demonstrating its market-proven, carrier-grade powerline network technology at the 2010 Broadband World Forum in Paris, France. HomePlug’s theme is “Delivering Today, Defining Tomorrow,” which reflects the wide adoption of HomePlug’s current AV powerline technology and new and developing HomePlug technology that will define tomorrow’s interoperable solutions.

“We are very pleased with the milestones we achieved in 2010, including the completion of our Green PHY Smart Grid specification in June, having HomePlug AV chips from four semiconductor companies pass our certification program, and seeing shipments of HomePlug devices cross the 60 million benchmark,” said Rob Ranck, president of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance. “2010 also saw the completion of the IEEE 1901 powerline standard based on HomePlug AV technology, and our next-generation AV2 broadband specification will be finished in early 2011.”

In addition to demonstrations and displays from several HomePlug members at the booth, the alliance will have several other activities taking place at the show including:
