Turner’s Session Will Illustrate How We Have Reached the Tipping Point for Broadband Wireless

NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TMC and Crossfire Media today announced that telecommunications industry veteran, and founder of netBlazr, Brough Turner will deliver a keynote address at their 4GWE Conference entitled, “WiFi - The Real 4G.”

This session, scheduled for Monday, October 4, at 3:15 PM, day one of the three-day 4GWE event, will look at current WiFi deployments and illustrate why we are at the tipping point of Broadband Wireless. 4GWE Conference runs October 4-6, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles.

Brough Turner is a well known, and well respected communications industry engineer and entrepreneur. He is founder of netBlazr, a startup working to change the landscape for broadband Internet access in urban areas of the United States.

Before founding netBlazr, Brough was co-founder and CTO of Natural MicroSystems and NMS Communications. While his leading interests are technology and innovation, his career has included roles in engineering, operations, finance, marketing and customer support. He writes and is widely quoted on telecommunications topics in trade and general business publications, and he is a frequent speaker at telecom industry events around the world.

Since 2001, Brough has focused on the wireless infrastructure and mobile applications. His 3G and 4G tutorials are widely popular and usually appear at the top, or near top, of Google 3G and 4G tutorial searches. Turner’s blogs cover technology, economic, and social issues addressing the intersection of telecom, mobility and the Internet.

“Wireless is at a tipping point and WiFi is leading the way,” said Brough Turner. “LTE and WiMAX are relative laggards, as innovation shows up in WiFi first. In this session, we’ll look at current WiFi deployments; examine current and future opportunities; and I’ll illustrate why we’ve reached the tipping point for Broadband Wireless.”

Details on the entire conference program are now available online. Event sponsors for 4GWE include: Alvarion, AT&T, BridgeWave Communications, CDMA Development Group, DDB Unlimited, Qwest Wholesale, and Xirrus.
