Insight Announces Second Quarter 2011 Results

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Insight Communications Company today announced financial and operating results for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Second Quarter Highlights

  • Revenue of $270.5 million, a 2% increase over Q2 2010
  • Adjusted Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization* of $92.2 million, a 2% increase over Q2 2010
  • Capital expenditures of $51.4 million
  • Free Cash Flow** of $20.9 million
  • Total Customer Relationships of 759,400 at June 30, 2011, a decrease of 16,200 from June 30, 2010
  • Total Revenue Generating Units (“RGUs”) of 2,164,300 at June 30, 2011, an increase of 85,000, or 4%, from June 30, 2010 and a 10,100 total RGU net loss during the quarter comprising:
    • Basic customer net loss of 13,600. Total basic customers at quarter end were 679,700, a 51% penetration of homes passed.
    • Digital customer net gain of 6,200. Total digital customers at quarter end were 650,100, a 96% penetration of the Company’s basic cable customers.
    • HSI customer net gain of 1,800. Total HSI customers at quarter end were 537,500, a 41% penetration of HSI homes passed.
    • Telephone customer net loss of 4,600. Total telephone customers at quarter end were 297,000, a 22% penetration of the Company’s telephone universe.
  • As of June 30, 2011, 99% of the Company’s customers were passed by two-way, 750 MHz or higher capacity upgraded network.
