Rolls, whose team is responsible for all new-technology developments throughout the Cox organization, will lead the Program Committee's continued development of content that helps cable system operators to reduce costs, optimize network performance and enhance customer satisfaction.  In his role as chairman, Rolls also will work with the vendor community to drive awareness of the benefits of advances in cable television technology.

"The continued contributions of the cable operator community and its leading technologists are among the cornerstones of Cable-Tec Expo's educational foundation," said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE.  "We're grateful to Cox and to Jay for making the corporate and personal commitments that will ensure Cable-Tec Expo's continued leadership role in driving engineering best practices and technology innovation."

"SCTE Cable-Tec Expo has always been and continues to be the industry's premier forum for engineering thought leadership and the showcasing of new technology," said Rolls.  "I'm pleased to be able to play such an active role in this year's event, and look forward to working with the Program Committee to host an event that delivers the best possible results for all members of the cable community."

Rolls joined Cox in 1995 as director of multimedia technology. He was promoted to vice president of data engineering in 2001 and vice president of telephone and data engineering in 2003. Most recently, he served as vice president of technology development where he oversaw technology engineering for all voice, video and Internet products. Prior to joining Cox, he served as vice president of network engineering at Excite@Home.
