John Thode Named Executive Vice President and General Manager of McAfee’s Consumer, Mobile and Small Business Unit

Consumer and Mobile Veteran to Join McAfee’s Senior Management Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- McAfee today announced that John Thode has joined the company as executive vice president and general manager. Thode is now responsible for developing and executing the strategy and bookings model for McAfee’s consumer, mobile and small business unit.

Thode joins McAfee from Dell where he was general manager of the Consumer Products Group. He was responsible for driving strategy and development of all of Dell’s non-traditional PC products including netbooks, smart phones, tablets, accessories, content and services. He had led marketing, engineering and sales support associates globally.

Prior to Dell, Thode was president and chief executive officer of ISCO Intl. Inc. (a telecom infrastructure company). He also spent 25 years with Motorola as vice president and general manager of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Handset Products.

Thode holds a Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Thode will report directly to Gebhart and is based in Illinois.
