NCTA’s Annual Spring Conference to Focus on Technologies for Smarter Business

Dr. Irving Wladawsky-Berger, Chairman Emeritus, IBM Academy of Technology to provide keynote

RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), the primary voice of the technology industry in North Carolina, announced today that Irving Wladawsky-Berger, Chairman Emeritus, IBM Academy of Technology, will provide the opening keynote presentation for NCTA’s annual spring conference, titled “The State of Technology: Technologies for Smarter Business.” This conference will be held on Tuesday, April 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, N.C. The NCTA Board of Directors will also host a pre-conference cocktail social on Monday, April 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the same location.

Dr. Wladawsky-Berger currently serves as Chairman Emeritus of the IBM Academy of Technology and visiting professor of engineering systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He retired from IBM in 2007 and in his emeritus role with the IBM Academy, he will continue to participate in a number of technical strategy and innovation initiatives. Dr. Wladawsky-Berger has led a number of IBM’s companywide initiatives including Linux, IBM’s Next Generation Internet efforts and its work on Grid computing.
