Leading developer of flow processors recognized for innovation in the semiconductor market

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Netronome, the leading developer of network flow processors, today announced it has been named a finalist in the “Start-Up to Watch” category for the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) awards. The award recognizes the semiconductor company that demonstrates the potential to positively change its market through the innovative use of semiconductor technology. The winner is selected by members of the Emerging CEO Council, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in the industry.

The GSA was established in 1994 by 40 charter members to play a more vital role with the emergence and worldwide adoption of the fabless business model. Today there are nearly 500 members in 25 countries with a 25-member board of directors.

“The GSA is composed of the most respected semiconductor firms in the industry and Netronome is honored to be named a Start-Up to Watch finalist for the second consecutive year,” said Howard Bubb, chief executive officer of Netronome. “This recognition is testament to both the designers and the users of our products who have helped us to achieve our fourth consecutive year of record revenue and design-win growth.”

Powered by 40 multi-threaded networking cores operating at up to 1.4 GHz, the Netronome Network Flow Processor (NFP‐3240) brings breakthrough performance to a broad range of demanding network, security and content processing applications used in 40Gbps and 100Gbps networks. The NFP‐3240 delivers 40 Gbps of packet processing with deep packet inspection, network and security processing, and I/O virtualization for millions of simultaneous flows. The NFP-3240 is the industry’s only processor specifically designed for tight coupling with Intel x86 processors, and it is fully compatible with the market‐leading Intel IXP28XX line of processors.

Winners will be announced at the GSA Awards Dinner Celebration on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
