North State Communications’ Plex Broadband Internet Named Official Sponsor of the Plex North Carolina State Criterium Cham
HIGH POINT, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- North State Communications (NSC), the leading telecommunications provider in the Piedmont Triad region, today announced their Plex high speed Internet as the official sponsor of the Plex North Carolina State Criterium Championships. The competition will take place on Saturday, May 28th as day two of the High Point City Criterium event (sponsored by Smart Choice Insurance).
Organized by Piedmont Charity Sports Promotions, Mock Orange Bikes Racing, and permitted by USA Cycling, the Criterium is a high speed bike race that takes place on a short (less than 5K) closed-off city street track. The “fast and furious” race will feature over 500 of the top criterium cyclists from across the state in multiple categories, including both men’s and women’s, and ranging from amateur to professional level.
The event is also the venue for the High Point Crits Block Party, which brings together food, music and entertainment for the entire family. The block party will be located at Mendenhall Transportation Terminal at IHFC/Showplace, also the race start and finish line.

Proceeds from both days’ activities will go toward supporting local charities, including the High Point Community Clinic, which provides free medical care and consultation to the underprivileged. Last year’s event raised over $30,000 for this and other local non-profits.
