LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The winners of an influential annual Awards programme for the European online video industry - the Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Awards - were announced in London tonight at a reception taking place at the Streaming Media Europe conference and EXPO.

Voting took place over the summer and over 12,700 votes were cast across 13 categories by the readers of Streaming Media’s European magazine. The magazine’s Editor, Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, commented:

The finalists in the 2010 Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards are a real who's-who of the online media industry, both in terms of established players and up-and-comers.

"What's most significant about these awards is that they're the only ones voted on by the people who actually use these technologies and services every day. The fact that more than 3,400 voters cast more than 12,700 votes — meaning that, on average, each voter cast a vote in 3 or 4 categories — is a testament to the impact that these companies and their products have had on the lives and work of their customers."
