Orascom Housing Communities to Choose Corinex Broadband over Powerline for Haram City

Haram City to be outfitted with Corinex BPL

CAIRO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SABA Electric announced partnership with LINKdotNET -one of the largest ISPs in the Middle East to deploy a Corinex Broadband over Powerline (BPL) access network across 70,000 residential units in Haram City, Orascom Housing Communities' (OHC) flagship project. Residents and businesses in Haram City now have the opportunity to receive voice, video and broadband internet services in any standard electrical outlet at home or at the office. In addition to consumer services, the installed BPL network is capable of setting up automated meters, surveillance services and smart grid.

The Corinex BPL network project is a full commercial deployment; the first phase is now finalized and covers approximately 1500 residential units. Different service packages ranging from 1 mbps up to 8 mbps broadband access with various VoIP and video options. Upon completion of all the phases, the service is expected to benefit over 300,000 residents, spanning over 8.4 million m² through medium and low voltage electrical lines connecting more than 64 transformers.
