Analysts will present new data on Telehealth, Energy Management, and Home Networking Revenue Streams at Dallas Summit

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Parks Associates’ President and Research Directors will participate on Telehealth, Energy Management, and Home Networking panels at the 2011 Broadband Properties Summit on April 27-28 in Dallas.

With a focus on residential properties, developments, and municipalities, the Broadband Properties Summit has become a must-attend event for network builders and large-scale and wholesale buyers and users of broadband technologies, equipment, and services.

What:

Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates, is moderating the session “FTTH Track: Applications for Telehealth and Telemedicine" on Wednesday, April 27, 2:10-3:10 P.M.

Parks Associates now expects the connected care industry to generate $5.7 billion in revenues in 2015, up from $1.7 billion in 2010. Services will account for the majority of the revenues in the five-year forecast period. By segment, chronic care management will account for about 45% total revenues projected in 2015 whereas the wireless wellness and fitness market will register the fastest growth over the next five years.

Bill Ablondi, Director, Home Systems Research, Parks Associates, is presenting during the session "Editor’s Choice Track: Energy Management: The Smart Grid, and Being Smart on the Grid Date" on Wednesday, April 27, 3:20-4:20 P.M.

Electric utilities are building telecom networks and partnering with telecom providers to manage energy use entirely. Parks Associates research forecasts that by 2020 to 2021 nearly 50% of households will have an energy management network; half will be iREM Nets and half HANs; iREM Nets will decline from that point forward and HANs will begin to dominate residential energy management networks.

Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates, is moderating the session "Editor's Choice Track: New Revenue Streams for Home Networking" on Thursday, April 28, 9:10-10:00 A.M.

With the new home networking standards and technologies appearing on the market, residents can reap the benefits of the “connected home” without hiring full-time IT staff. Parks Associates forecasts that by 2015, there will be 90 million U.S. broadband households and 60 million households with a home network, up from 77 million and 42 million in 2010, respectively.
