Mr. Jay Bennett, product manager of PMC-Sierra’s 40G coherent optical solutions, will present “PMC-Sierra Coherent Technology Enables Volume Deployment of 40G Coherent Networks” at OptiNet China on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 2:30 p.m.
The tidal wave of new high-bandwidth IP services in Enterprise, Residential and Mobile market segments is straining Service Provider networks. Optical networks must be upgraded to higher-capacity fiber transmission rates but with a new cost paradigm to sustain the decade-long upgrade cycle facing network operators.
PMC-Sierra’s unique coherent technology enables mass deployment of 40Gb/s coherent from metro to long haul optical networks. With PMC-Sierra’s differentiated approach of integrating advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Analogue to Digital Conversion (ADC), Optical Transport Network (OTN) and high performance Swizzle Forward Error Correction (FEC) technology, Carriers are now able to increase optical network capacity and at the same time eliminate an entire class of optical impairment compensation equipment which in turn eliminates truck rolls to perform optical link engineering needed to maintain the Carrier’s fiber plant.
