Cloud-Based MTIPS Solution Secures Internet Access Points for Agencies

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has provided Qwest Government Services, a part of Qwest Communications (NYSE: Q), Government-wide authority to operate for its Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS).

GSA developed the government-wide Authority to Operate (ATO) for MTIPS instead of requiring individual authorizations from each federal agency that uses it. MTIPS is available under Qwest’s Networx Universal and Enterprise contracts.

Qwest’s MTIPS allows for physical and logical connections to the public Internet. The cloud-based solution is configured by Qwest to ensure consistent, up-to-date Internet security. It is in full compliance with Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) initiative (M-08-05) by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and meets or exceeds the 51 mandated capabilities for TIC providers.
