In 2009, in order to be better positioned against the fierce competition, KT Corp merged in the operations of its mobile entity KT Freetel. LG Telecom quickly followed suit and in 2010 LG Telecom had merged its operations with LG Dacom and LG Telecom. Both LG Telecom and KT had become full-services operators offering extensive converged services.
