Strategy Analytics: Benchmarking Telecom Prices for the New OECD Member Countries
Telecoms Service Prices in the 4 New OECD Countries on the High Side
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Strategy Analytics’ Teligen T-Basket, the mobile and fixed voice tracking service, is following the 2010 expansion of OECD membership, which incorporates Chile, Estonia, Israel and Slovenia into the ranks of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The first update, which includes information from these new countries, shows that the price levels for fixed and mobile voice services in these countries generally falls in the higher half of the OECD price range for most usage levels.
The Strategy Analytics Insight, “Telecom Price Benchmarking Expands into New OECD Countries,” shows an overview of the price positions of the new OECD Member Countries, including:
- A mobile basket with 100 calls per month: Slovenia ranks in 15th place, Estonia 16th, Israel 30th and Chile 34th among the 34 OECD countries.
- A fixed telephony basket with 140 calls per month: Slovenia ranks in 12th place, Israel is in 16th, Estonia 17th and Chile 21st.
The Teligen T-Basket covers fixed line and mobile telephony, and compares the price levels of 68 mobile operators and 34 incumbent fixed line operators. The system is the official implementation of the OECD Price Benchmarking Methodology.
