Suddenlink Doubles VOD Capacity
ST. LOUIS (Aug. 16, 2011) - Suddenlink has doubled the capacity of its video on demand (VOD) service from 10,000 to 20,000 hours in most areas where VOD is available. (The upgrade will be completed in former NPG communities later this year.)
The company now offers more than 8,000 VOD titles, and is working to expand its library substantially by year's end.
Through Project Imagine, Suddenlink has significantly expanded the reach of its VOD service to more than 78 percent of customers. Project Imagine, started in late 2009, is the company's nationwide capital investment program, calling for approximately $350 million over three years, above and beyond Suddenlink's traditional capital spending levels.
Suddenlink's VOD service offers thousands of hours of viewing - including movies, sports, news, music and popular cable-network shows - with many choices available in high-definition (HD) format and several available in three-dimensional (3-D) format. More than a third of the Suddenlink VOD library is free. The rest is available for either a per-view charge or monthly subscription. Suddenlink's VOD library is regularly updated to make fresh choices available to customers.
