Taqua Expands Wireless Team and Showcases Converged Switching and RF Backhaul Solutions at This Week’s 4G World and SCTE C

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Taqua®, LLC, a leading supplier of next-generation wireline and wireless switching and backhaul solutions, today announced wireless industry veterans’ Payam Maveddat and Peter Allen have joined Taqua to help expand its next-generation convergence switching and wireless backhaul solutions which are on display at both the 4G World and SCTE Cable-Tec Expo conferences this week.

Payam Maveddat has joined Taqua as Executive Vice President of Product Management while Peter Allen is Taqua’s Vice President of Wireless Business Development and Operations. Both Peter and Payam will be present this week to showcase Taqua's products and solutions in booth #731 at 4G World in Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, and in booth #120 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans’ Ernest Morial Convention Center.

Payam Maveddat is responsible for Taqua’s product line management organization for all of Taqua’s convergence switching and RF backhaul products. Payam has considerable expertise in wireless, IMS standards and architectures. He is a technologist, pioneer, and veteran of mobile communications industry, with expertise in product management, strategic planning, technology development, network planning, and systems engineering. His industry accomplishments are numerous and include deployment of the world's first 3GPP distributed mobile switching and hosted CDMA Femtocell architecture. Previously, Payam held executive positions in product management, systems engineering and marketing at Mavenir, Tekelec, Nortel, and AT&T Bell Labs. He specializes in mobile Internet, FMC and IMS, Voice & Messaging over LTE/4G, and soft-switching. Payam has been granted eight (8) US patents in mobile networking. He has BSEE from University of Iowa, MSEE from Georgia Tech, and MBA from University of Texas.

Peter Allen, responsible for Taqua’s wireless backhaul business development and operations, is a seasoned entrepreneur having been involved in six early stage start-ups, including four as a founder. With over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Peter has also held a variety of executive management, marketing and business development positions. Most recently, Peter was the founding CEO of PulseWave RF a fables Semiconductor company developing next generation digital power amplifier modules for the wireless infrastructure market. Peter spent his early career at Nortel Networks where he held a number of roles including product management, business development, mergers & acquisitions and finance. Peter has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada); a Honors Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University (Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) and a Master of Business Administration degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). Peter is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
