Mini Fiber Distribution Hub Meets Unique Application Requirements

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TE Connectivity (TE) today announced the mini fiber distribution hub (mini FDH 3000) that is designed to address the unique requirements of rural or other lower-density fiber deployments. A new addition to TE’s market-proven FDH 3000 series solutions, the mini FDH 3000 can serve up to 72 residential units in a miniaturized cabinet that is both right-sized and feature-rich for adding fiber capacity quickly and economically.

“Service providers deploying FTTX to serve rural customers typically require a local network infrastructure that can support lower subscriber densities and diverse installation requirements,” says Trevor Smith, director of market development and strategy for TE Connectivity’s Telecom Networks Americas business unit. “The new mini FDH meets service providers’ requirements for flexibility, simplified network installations and fast service turn-up.”

The flexible design of the mini FDH accommodates wall or pole mounting in both indoor and outdoor environments. The hub utilizes standardized TE splitter modules used in larger FDH 3000 cabinets and offers easy technician access to subscriber connections as well as bend radius protection.
