ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions, announced today it has received Cloud Builder certification from Cisco. The Cloud Builder certification recognizes partners who design and implement cloud-ready infrastructures or fully provisioned private or public clouds. The designation validates WWT’s competency in three aspects of building clouds: Infrastructure, Management Applications and Cloud Professional Services.

WWT’s evolution as an industry leader in data center transformation and cloud computing began with customer discussions regarding the need for a more flexible, scalable and economical computing infrastructure. WWT quickly realized the potential of this model and its ability to enable cost savings and productivity gains for many of its enterprise customers and prospects.

“More and more, organizations are looking to transform their data centers into converged cloud-based infrastructures,” said Bob Olwig, vice president of business strategy at World Wide Technology. “Our expertise in virtualization, compute, storage, networking and facilities provide the means for WWT to be an effective partner for customers attempting to undertake the initial steps of data center services transformation.”

Over the past few years, WWT has built and reinforced its multi-vendor data center and cloud management accreditations with specializations and more than 400 industry certifications from IT leaders like Cisco, Citrix, EMC, HP, NetApp, VMware and others. These credentials assure customers that WWT is well qualified to plan, design and implement cloud-ready infrastructure.

“Cisco Cloud Builder Certification validates the methodical, customer-focused approach we have taken to become a leader in the space,” said Scott Miller, director of business development for virtualization at World Wide Technology. “Being recognized as a ‘cloud builder’ reinforces our commitment and investment to this evolving, multi-disciplinary area within the data center.”

WWT is one of the world’s largest Cisco’s Gold partners and is consistently recognized by Cisco for demonstrating technical excellence and delivering customer value. At the most recent Cisco Partner Summit, WWT won the Cisco Data Center Partner of the Year award plus eight other honors. The company employs more than 270 Cisco-certified individuals, 127 Sales Experts (CSEs) and holds more than 500 individual Cisco certifications. WWT’s engineers stay abreast of the latest technology developments through continuous training and close working relationships with Cisco personnel.
