Zixi Names Vivek Pathela as Executive Vice President, Products, Marketing and Operations

Former NETGEAR VP/GM joins as well-funded startup ramps go-to-market execution

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Zixi ^TM, the leading enabler of broadcast quality HDTV globally over the cloud, today announced that it named Vivek Pathela as Executive Vice President of Products, Marketing and Operations. Vivek assumes the responsibilities of a new position following recent investments that the company has acquired, specifically to ramp the Company’s product delivery, marketing, operations and go-to-market execution. Vivek was previously the General Manager and Vice President of NETGEAR’s home and consumer products business that successfully grew from inception when he joined the company in 2000 to almost half a billion dollars in revenue in 2010, leading NETGEAR to become the world’s leader in revenue market share and volume shipments in wireless routers and home networking products.

Zixi is delivering advanced multimedia transport software to enable flawless HD video and multimedia delivery over the public Internet and IP networks for broadcasters, enterprise, content delivery networks and Internet video-on-demand services. He has served markets globally throughout his career and across the customer and channel segments of consumers, small-medium businesses, enterprise, mobile and network operators and service providers. Prior to his 11-year tenure at NETGEAR, Vivek served at Hewlett Packard for 15 years and held various positions in product management, marketing, systems engineering and software development in enterprise and carrier/service provider markets.
