Cbeyond Communications has joined the chorus of uncertain statements from carriers about the year ahead. The company issued fourth-quarter 2007 earnings yesterday in which it reported profit had nearly tripled to $12.5 million from $4.3 million for the same period the previous year. Revenue also increased 30.6% to $76.9 million, but the small business-focused service provider followed up with a full-year revenue outlook for 2008 of $350 million to $360 million. That came in below analyst expectations of about $364.4 million, and Cbeyond's stock subsequently took a hit, just as most other telco stocks have been battered this week amid the increasingly uncertain atmosphere.
