Oakland, Calif.-based Pac-West Telecomm announced Thursday that it has acquired Texas-based Tex-Link Communications, Inc.
Terms of the deal were not announced. Pac-West says that Tex-Link presented "an ideal opportunity" for Pac-West to expand its footprint. Tex-Link will continue to operate and serve its Texas customer base as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pac-West, expanding on an already-merged operations infrastructure in place under the company's existing strategic partnership.
Pac-West currently serves wholesale customers in 10 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, New York and Michigan. With the acquisition of TexLink, Pac-West extends it footprint to include the four biggest Texas markets. Pac-West's expanding footprint currently covers over 42 percent of the nation's population.
