Honorable Mentions - Top 10 Service Providers on the Cutting Edge

Tools
And, the honorable mentions go to...

Cogent Communications, a pure-play Carrier Ethernet provider who may have invented the segment before it became standardized, and whose aggressive marketing of 100 Mb/s service set the tone for a now-booming market... India's Reliance Telecom, whose acquisition of Yipes Enterprise Services makes Reliance a surprising new force in the U.S. market... Windstream, for being aggressive in offering triple play services, and for using M&A to create a new force among independent telcos... Xfone, a U.S. based carrier which intends to acquire NTS Communications, and already operates prepaid and low-cost international long-distance services overseas… XO Communications, for launching its National Hub bandwidth-on-demand solution, and for pushing into broadband wireless...

Looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

Thanking You and assuring You of our best services at all times,

Yours Truly,

Narendra Srikrishna

You should consider Bandwidth.com as they have announced that they will have the largest all IP Sonus powered voice network active by the EOY 2008. They really are shaking up the voice market in the US

Totally agree. Paetec may have been a bit of a victim of timing, in that I filed my list just before the Mcleod acquisition, which certainly made me take a look. Good catch.

What about Paetec:

They have been in the black for 18 straight quarters, acquired US LEC late last year, and have already announced acquisition of McLeod USA.

They have one of the only true QOS MPLS VPNs solutions, Disaster Recovery, Support SIP, along with an extremely customer and employee orientated.

They are doing right things right and have been since their enception

And what about Telenor?

you just don't talk about Neuf Telecom (alias Neuf Cegetel) in France, they just released so many offers in the last years including residential FMC with mobile TV...
Big wifi network and one of the cheapest Triple Play offers on european market around 30€.
2 other big french actors that are troubling many carriers in Europe by the strong competition they deliver : Orange with the biggest network of VoIP residential lines in Europe... and Free (Iliad)

Absolutely. Good point. Sprint was on an earlier draft of my list and just missed the cut. I'm worried about what will happen with WiMAX with a new CEO coming in. But, embracing WiMAX was definitely a cutting-edge move. Thanks for the input.

Sprint should be commended for moving forward with WiMAX in the face of short-sighted investors who don't understand the technology.

What about Sprint Nextel?
