ACA's Matt Polka expects regional cable operators to focus on broadband

Matt Polka, ACAMatt Polka, the CEO of the American Cable Association (ACA), said a number of the association's smaller cable operator members plan to focus their attention on selling broadband Internet access services to subscribers as they continue to get their video services from OTT players like Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) and Hulu. In addition to customers' migration to online video, content acquisition costs have forced a number of smaller cable operators out of business. Steve Donohue, editor of FierceCable, caught up with Polka at the ACA's 20th annual summit in Washington, D.C., to talk about various issues including usage-based broadband, lobbying efforts and retransmission reform.
