Adtran Q4 revenue down, but orders picking up

Network equipment vendor Adtran reported fourth quarter revenue of $112.4 million, down about 5 percent from the same quarter in 2007. Net income for the quarter came in at about $16.7 million. Yet, for the full year, revenue was up about 5 percent to $500.7 million. Company officials also said that orders are up so far this year, after a slowdown late in 2008. Ericsson also reported a mix of good and bad news-revenue growth, but also job cuts-in its earnings report yesterday. So far, the fourth quarter is shaping up to be a mixed bag.
