ADTRAN's Kevin Morgan becomes vice chair of FTTH Council Americas board
The Fiber to the Home Council Americas has named Kevin Morgan, ADTRAN's (Nasdaq: ADTN) director of marketing communications, as the new vice chairman for its board of directors.
In addition, Morgan will serve as this year's annual 2014 FTTH Conference and Expo chairman.
A 20-plus telecom industry veteran, Morgan has been a key advocate of fiber to the home (FTTH) technology for not only ADTRAN's customers, but also serving as a liaison with various industry and standards groups.
"Kevin's extensive industry experience and strong track record for building consensus on key issues surrounding FTTH make him an excellent choice for leadership as vice chairman of the FTTH Council Americas," said Gary Bolton, vice president of global marketing for ADTRAN.
While FTTH is far from universal, North American service providers such as Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Canada's Bell Aliant continue to make progress with their respective buildouts.
