Analyst: Fujitsu is Verizon RFP winner

It's been a busy week for Morgan Keegan analyst Simon Leopold. In addition to reporting that he believes BT is slowing spending on its 21CN project, he is also saying that Fujitsu Network Communications is the winner of Verizon Communications' RFP for packet optical gear. Fujitsu is assumed to be one of three vendors competing for the slot as Verizon's second reconfigurable add/drop multiplexer vendor after Tellabs, so it would not be a huge surprise. Still, no comment from Fujitsu or Verizon yet.
