AT&T CFO Rick Lindner to retire in June

Tools

AT&T's (NYSE: T) veteran CFO, Rick Linder, will retire from the service provider on June 1, 2011. Filling Lindner's shoes will be AT&T Controller John Stephens, a 19-year company veteran.

Since 2004, Lindner served as AT&T's CFO and previously as CFO for the joint wireless venture between SBC and Bell South Cingular Wireless.

Stephens has been AT&T's controller since 2001, where he oversaw financial reporting and operations, business planning and accounting policy. Before becoming controller, Stephens oversaw all corporate tax matters for the company as AT&T's VP of Taxes.

Lindner is one of latest CFOs at a major ILEC to retire. Late last year, Verizon CFO John Killian also decided to retire from that company after 30 years of service.
