BCE chairman, three directors to leave

We continue to see the lingering effects of the implosion of the Bell Canada Enterprises deal: BCE Chairman Richard Currie and three other members of the company's board of directors plan to depart early next year. Current BCE board member and former PricewaterhouseCoopers CEO Thomas O'Neill is expected to become the company's new chairman at BCE's next board meeting in February.

Board members Judith Maxwell, John McArthur and Robert Pozen are also leaving the company. Currie was chairman of BCE for more than six years. Last week, the company filed a lawsuit in pursuit of a $1.2 billion break-up fee as a result of the acquisition deal's collapse.
