Bell Aliant deepens New Brunswick FTTH network coverage

Bell Aliant (Toronto: BA-UN.TO) is enhancing its FibreOP branded Fiber to the Home in New Brunswick, Canada with Sussex being the most recent city to get the service following a CAD 2 million (USD 2 million) investment in the area.

With this new deployment complete it will be able to provide FTTH-based triple-play services to 3,000 residential and business customers.

In New Brunswick, Bell Aliant has completed the buildout of its FibreOP FTTH network in a number of Greater Saint John areas, including Quispamsis, Rothesay, Grand Bay/Westfield, as well as Bathurst, Fredericton, Miramichi, and Moncton, including Riverview, Dieppe and Shediac.

Outside of New Brunswick, the service provider has completed builds in Nova Scotia (including most recently Yarmouth), Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

These recent builds are part of an aggressive campaign the service provider has taken to cover 650,000 premises with FTTH by the end of 2012.
