Broadband, IPTV numbers continue to grow
Good news for telecoms: Global broadband subscribers now number 370 million, while global IPTV subscribers now total almost 15.5 million with ADSL2plus playing a surprisingly big role in delivery, according to research from Point Topic and presented at the Broadband World Forum Asia. Telecoms are hoping IPTV will drive sign-up to fiber broadband networks worldwide, with more than 10 million people now connected to fiber networks, which grew by 33 percent since beginning of 2007.
