BroadSoft and Sylantro - Thank you, Mr. Off-the-record
I'd like to thank everyone that I can't quote today. Without your insights and help, we would have been unable to share the details of the soon-to-be-announced BroadSoft/Sylantro merger.
A number of people with insight into the BroadSoft and Sylantro camps were kind enough to share what they knew to give us a detailed enough picture for us to run the story. We appreciate you reaching out to us, returning our phone calls, and promise you don't need to *67 the next time you call.
Our latest information says an announcement may be forthcoming either later today or on Monday, but we're going to take that with a grain of salt - lawyers can be very creative in finding issues to add billable time.
Terms of the deal appear to be simple - BroadSoft will assume Sylantro's debt.
I realize there are a lot of current and ex-Sylantro employees who are very bitter right now.
About the only consolation I can offer is that BroadSoft seems to be doing a lot of The Right Things in this merger in order to preserve Sylantro's brand and reputation and to assure its customers that they will be supported moving forward. BroadSoft is expected give more details in early January.
