Bruce Telecom

Bruce Telecom earlier this month turned on its new IPTV service known as Bruce TV. For the small Canadian telco it was a big moment as Bruce is the first Canadian carrier to use MPEG4 technology to deliver video. Based in Tiverton, Ontario the company has 14,500 telephone subscribers and has been servicing the Lake Huron shoreline for 100 years. Bruce Telecom had revenues of $C15.25 million in 2007. Its MPEG4 service is being offered in association with a new fiber to the home deployment Bruce is undertaking in a  development at Southhampton. The TV service is also being offered to its copper line customers as an extension to their telephony and Internet services. Release
