BT begins broad ADSL2+ rollout

Tools

U.K. telco BT is beginning its nationwide launch of ADSL2+ service, which theoretically allows 20 Mbps broadband access. The offering will reach about 10 million customer locations, or about 40 percent of BT's network, U.K. publication the Register reported. The service is considered a free capacity boost--rather than a completely new and separately-priced offering--for customers who currently have an 8 Mbps service.
