BT Conferencing names Jeff Prestel as new CEO
BT Conferencing (NYSE: BT) is conducting some executive shuffling as it promotes Jeff Prestel to CEO of the company.
Prestel, who came to BT Conferencing as part of BT's acquisition of Wire One in 2008, currently serves as the general manager and CEO of BT Conferencing Americas Unit.
Set to begin his new role in February at BT, Prestel takes over from 17-year BT veteran Aaron McCormack who has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests outside the industry.
Prestel will be based in the U.S. BT Conferencing offices. Before joining Wire One, Prestel held various management roles at NCR and IBM.
The appointment of Prestel comes at a time when BT continues to up the ante of its conferencing options and its presence in the U.S. telecom market through partners such as AT&T and Cisco around telepresence and unified communications (UC).
