BT to make major cuts in its Local Business unit

BT's Local Business division has continued to see sales decline over the past year so it's going to be taking out the job cut axe.

Although BT Local Business director Andy Hudson would not reveal where the cuts will come from, he did, in a story with The Register, say that "it's a significant number of people and it will affect most areas of my group."

BT is expected to make a final decision on what will be exactly cut from the division on Thursday. However, support staff aren't the only ones that will be cut. Hudson said many upper management members will also lose their jobs.

When BT concludes the layoff process, the division will be restructured and there's going to be more pressure on existing staff to win back more high profile customers that left BT for another service provider.
