BT misses South Wales 21CN schedule

Tools

U.K. telco giant BT reportedly has fallen well short of a three-year-old pledge to connect 350,000 customer in South Wales with its 21 Century Network. BT made the commitment back in 2005 that it would have those customers online with the 21CN by 2007, but the Western Mail reports there are believed to be less than 10,000 customers in the region who are actually connected. After starting strong, the 21CN project has been hounded by reports of problems and higher costs. BT still is saying most of the project will be in service by 2011.
