C Spire taps Amino to power up its IPTV service

Tools

C Spire has selected Amino's IPTV platform as the foundation for the video service it will deliver across its 1 Gbps-capable fiber to the home (FTTH) network in its Mississippi serving area.

The service provider will deploy Amino's Live Advanced Media Centre and A140 devices as part of triple-play bundle that will include broadband data, voice and HD TV services.

By using Amino platform, the service provider will be able to extend a new set of capabilities, including catch-up TV services, video on demand, social and user-generated content.

Besides personal video recorder and Wi-Fi capability, the Live Advanced Media Platform can also record up to seven channels and then play out content over the home network.

Similar to Google Fiber, C Spire has deployed FTTH facilities throughout Mississippi with more to come online as more of the state's communities pre-register homeowners to get the service.

Providing traditional triple play services is only one element of C Spire's broadband push. The service provider recently joined a host of traditional telcos like AT&T (NYSE: T) and Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) in offering home automation services as part of its C Spire Home service suite.
