Cbeyond introduces cloud-based storage for small businesses

Cbeyond is taking advantage of the Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 to introduce its new TotalCloud File Storage (TCFS) service, offering cloud-based file storage, sharing and backup service to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs).

Typically only available to large enterprises, the new service will give SMB customers access to a mix of real-time collaboration, file synchronization and backup at any time and from any device.

A key element of TCFS is simplicity. Instead of having to send bulky email attachments that might get tagged as spam or clog networks and inboxes, TCFS enables SMBs to send and receive files via password-protected e-mail links.

According to Cbeyond's Business Leader Snapshot survey, 83 percent of SMB leaders identified security, productivity and collaboration software as important to their business.

Customers will be able to access two options: Essentials or Enterprise, depending on the size and needs of the business. Each of these options includes various features such as secure file sharing, bulk file upload, file synchronization, email integration and multi-platform support (including PC, Mac, Android and iOS).

Cloud services have been an ongoing priority for Cbeyond. In June, the service provider began offering its TotalCloud Phone System (TCPS) cloud-based managed voice platform on a national basis to small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
