CenturyLink raises prices on standalone DSL service
CenturyLink's (NYSE: CTL) dry loop DSL service customers were served an unwelcome dish following Thanksgiving as the telco announced it is increasing the price of the standalone service by $2 per month.
A notice mailed to users stated the new rate will go into effect this month. The new pricing will also apply to customers that are served under promotional rates, although it won't apply to existing "Price Lock" or "Price for Life" promotions.
A spokeswoman for CenturyLink confirmed the new rate.
One CenturyLink subscriber in Broadband DSL Reports' user forum said that the combination of the latest $2 increase and the $1 increase that the telco implemented in June means the total price of his service jumped to $72.99 a month.
