CenturyLink secures spot on GSA's CONNECTIONS II contract vehicle

CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) has joined the all-star cast participating in the General Services Administration's (GSA) CONNECTIONS II $5 billion contract program for federal government agencies.

Complementing the existing Networx telecommunications service contract, CONNECTIONS II provides professional services to support existing federal networks, including customized designs and client-specific solutions.

Federal agencies can use the contract to conduct transition planning and integration services or infrastructure installation and implementation.

CenturyLink joins both AT&T Government Solutions (NYSE: T) and Verizon Federal (NYSE: VZ), which in November announced it won a seat on the CONNECTIONS II contract. Both AT&T and Verizon previously served as prime contractors under the predecessor CONNECTIONS contract.

Having advanced its presence in the federal government instantly through its acquisition of Qwest, CenturyLink participates in a number of high-profile GSA contracts supporting defense and civilian agencies, including GSA Federal Supply Schedule 70, Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Access Transport Services, and regional GSA contracts.
