Seidenberg sees better days ahead

Verizon Communications CEO Ivan Seidenberg, speaking at an investor conference, painted a somewhat rosier picture for 2009 than a recent analyst report that predicted just 2 percent growth for the company this year. Verizon's stock price fell sharply after that report. But, Seidenberg said that despite general economic softness and ongoing pension expenses that are hurting just about every other telco, wireless growth will remain strong, expected enterprise market dips will not hurt the company, and Verizon's FiOS network is increasingly off-setting legacy landline weakness.
