Cincinnati Bell's FTTH network now serves 25,000 customers

Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) continues to make progress with its Fioptics Fiber to the Home (FTTH) with over 25,000 subscribers in both Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Consumers that sign up for the Fioptics service can get access to a product suite that includes over 325 television channels, up to 100 Mbps Internet speeds and traditional voice.

Since it introduced the Fioptics service in 2009, it is now available to over 70,000 homes with plans to expand coverage in 2011 as it completes necessary network upgrades.

The FTTH customer milestone comes at a time when its traditional wireline voice and DSL service revenues continue to decline-a factor that drove Cincinnati Bell reorganize itself into two units that oversee consumer and managed business services.
