Comcast, DirecTV fined for Do Not Call violations

The nation's largest cable TV provider and largest satellite TV provider each are being fined by the Federal Trade Commission for repeated violations of the Do Not Call list. Comcast agreed to a $900,000 fine, while DirecTV will pay $2.31 million. The satellite TV firm actually has previously paid about $5.3 million in fines related to previous incidents of DNC violations. In the current case, FTC alleged that Comcast and DirecTV both separately called consumers on the DNC list, and also even called customers again who had said they did not wanted to be contacted.
